Meet & Explore ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application that helps people coordinate real-world activities and build local communities. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information — When you register, we collect your name, email address, and optionally a profile photo.

User content — Events you create or join, groups you participate in, messages you send, photos you upload, and ratings you give or receive.

Device information — A push notification token so we can send you activity updates. We do not collect advertising identifiers.

Usage activity — Actions within the app such as events attended, groups joined, and organiser history. This is used to power trust and reputation features.

Sign-in providers — If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers. We do not receive your passwords.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account
To display your profile to other participants in shared events or groups
To deliver push notifications about events and messages
To send transactional emails (confirmations, reminders)
To calculate trust scores and reputation within the platform
To investigate reports of harmful behaviour and enforce our community standards
To diagnose crashes and improve app stability

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

We share data only with the following service providers who process it on our behalf:

Supabase (Dublin, EU) — database, authentication, and file storage
Google — OAuth sign-in; crash reporting via Sentry (US)
Apple — OAuth sign-in
Expo / Expo Push — push notification delivery
Resend — transactional email delivery
Cloudflare — DNS and content delivery

Other users can see your display name, profile photo, and public events or groups you participate in. Your email address is never visible to other users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below. Content that forms part of shared group or event history may be retained in anonymised form.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Supabase infrastructure within the European Union (Ireland, eu-west-1 region). Row-level security policies restrict data access to authorised users only.

6. Children's Privacy

Meet & Explore is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. EU/EEA users may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Third-Party Links

Events and groups may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
