Meet & Explore — Account & Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your Meet & Explore account and associated personal data at any time. There are two ways to do this.
1. Delete from within the app
This is the fastest way to start the process. You are signed out straight away; permanent deletion follows after a 30-day cancellation window (see below).
- Open the Meet & Explore app and sign in
- Tap your profile picture to go to your profile
- Tap Settings (gear icon, top right)
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion in the prompt that appears
After confirming, a 30-day cancellation window begins and your account is deactivated at once: you are signed out, your profile is hidden from other members, messages to and from you stop, upcoming events you organise are cancelled (the people signed up are told), and your sign-ups to upcoming events are released. If you sign back in within 30 days, your account and profile are restored; cancelled events and released sign-ups are not. After 30 days the deletion becomes permanent and cannot be undone.
2. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, send an email to:
Please include the email address associated with your account in your message so we can locate it. Email requests enter the same 30-day cancellation window; we confirm by email once it completes.
What data is deleted
After the 30-day window, we permanently delete:
- Your messages and chat messages, and the ratings you gave
- Your private details — date of birth and phone number
- Your interests, languages, "vibe" answers and personalisation profile
- Your reputation, reliability, standing, badges, endorsements and vouches
- Your friend connections, blocks, profile-visibility settings, check-in records (including location), photo-verification records and push notification tokens
- Your uploaded profile photo
- Groups you own pass first to an owner of the organization they are linked to, otherwise to their longest-standing organiser, and are archived when there is neither
Your name and profile details are replaced with an anonymised placeholder so that other members' past events and conversations still make sense. A limited set of de-identified information is kept for up to 24 months for fraud prevention, the record of which version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted is kept for 5 years after deletion (so that we can show consent was given), and some information may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before they are rotated out.
30-day window: Once you request deletion, you have 30 days to change your mind. Simply sign back in to cancel the deletion (events that were cancelled and sign-ups that were released stay that way). After 30 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
